"Kristian Fletcher is like an ambassador of cult movies" - director John Waters

Kristian Fletcher was one of the key people at the forefront of Brisbane's now-flourishing cult/classic cinema scene. From one-off special events to successful cult movie programs, Kristian hosts themed events at venues around Brisbane on a regular basis.

In October 2000, aged 17, he began presenting screenings of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with a floorshow by local fan group Cards 4 Sorrow.

It was Rocky Horror which gave Kristian the interest and experience to present other themed cult movie events and he expanded with Able Productions in 2003.

In 2005, he launched Retro-Spekt, a 'travelling' retro dance party which is still seen at venues around Brisbane.

Kristian's events have a distinct 'retro' feel stemming from his love of the 70s/80s and nostalgia.

Kristian is currently working on a book entitled Rocky Road: Confessions of a Cult Movie Exhibitor which will chronicle over fifteen years in the industry.

Kristian cites Kate Bush, director John Waters and Madonna as his main influences.
